There are a lot of things to think about when you're navigating a performing arts path. These blog topics will help.
This is one of my favorite mantras. Progress over perfection. So easy to think about, so hard to put into practice. Especially for creative people. Watch the video and let me know what you think.
This has been a rough week. In thinking about what I can do, how can I best support folks, I had two ideas.
First, make the Your Ladders classes available to people. Use this link to sign up for 21 days of access free, with no obligations.
Second, I'm going to be in my Facebook group, Awakening the Muse Within, every day at 2pm ET to check in. Join the group, and drop in.
Take care of yourself.
I am very excited about my "Breaking Through" program. I'm met so many emerging artists who are comfortable with their craft, but they are having trouble developing the strategies they need to get past the blocks that are stopping them. Blocks like frustration, burnout and uncertainty. I've created an 8 week program to help. It includes lessons, group coaching and support. This video explains more.

Time is a precious resource. None of us have enough. So how do you make time for your creative journey? And by time, what do I mean? There's more information about the webinar here.
A lot of folks want to set goals for their creative journey, but the traditional method of doing that doesn't work. Creative goals are born out of creative dreams. Dreams that may not be fully articulated yet. I've created a webinar to help. Its available for just $27. Learn more here.
I'm not going to make this a "make a resolution" or "here's how to set goals"* post. Instead, I'm going to suggest you seriously think about how you can reboot your creative journey in 2020.
What do I mean by reboot? Give yourself a jumpstart. Refresh yourself. Hit the creative Ctrl-Alt-Del and get yourself unstuck. Or use the opportunity to remember why you're doing what you're doing. Become reacquainted with your muse. Shake off the dust.
We all need creative reboots once in a while. If you took my Time Management webinar in December, you know that I suggest artist dates to find new inspiration. (If you didn't take the webinar, I've made it available here.) Now, let's talk about other ways you can reboot your creativity.
Remember to have fun. Creative work is real work. But I've found that I forget to have fun when I'm doing my work. One of my goals this year is to stop, breathe, and remember to have fun.
Another way to reboot is to stretch yourself. Do you want to learn something...
There's never enough.
When you're on a creative journey, making the most of your time is crucial. I'm doing a webinar on December 16 at 7:30 about making decisions on how to spend your time honing your craft, building your community, finding inspiration, and dreaming of your next artistic endeavor.
From November 4- 11 I'm doing live mini-trainings about my new Muse Mapping program. They will be live on Facebook and Instagram (in stories) at 1pm ET. I'm also simulcasting in my Awakening the Muse Within Facebook group (have you joined yet?).
This video is the introduction. For the rest of the trainings I'll go through each of the six steps in the Muse Mapping system with a specific topic in each section.
I created Muse Mapping to help folks navigate their creative path on their terms, with tools that they develop for themselves. The program (which starts November 18) will run for 8 weeks, with videos and worksheets, weekly group coaching calls and a private Facebook page. I'm really looking forward to helping folks start 2020 off the way they've always wanted to--with a plan for their creative journey.
Interested in talking to me more about the program? Here's an application that you can fill out. Let's talk and make sure we're a good fit before you invest in...
On October 23 & 24 I'm going to be doing a free, live masterclass, "6 Ways to Unlock Your Creativity". [Sign up here to save your spot.]
You're curious, but you're hesitant. Do any of these sound familiar?
If they do, this is precisely why you need to join me in this masterclass.
See, it's all about balance.
The balance of patience and passion. The balance of fear and confidence. The balance of being an apprentice and becoming a master.
You don't get rid of doubts, or fear. You balance it with intention and passion.
At one point in your future life, what would be worse.
Trying to do something creative and failing?
Or not trying?
Not trying. Every time. Creativity adds a measure of joy to life. Not the outcome--the process.
You need to finish the book. Learn how to play the instrument. Get on...
